We present a formulation for the tubulent entrainment combustion model that, unlike previous attempts presented in the literature, satisfies the conservation laws locally and is suitable for use within the framework of a CFD code. Modifications to numerical front tracking schemes have been devised to permit their use in flows with arbitrary rates of density variation. This allows one to model the full range of reaction rates that may be encountered in SI engine appications. The front tracking model has been coupled with a hydrodynamic code to solve the full set of conservation equations.
