This study explored the impact of two types of agitation on pectinase scouring procedures and further confirmed earlier work. Observed previously, water wettability and absorbency increase with increasing reaction times. Reaction times must be greater than 30 minutes to improve the absorbency of cotton fabrics. On the other hand, this study observed that extending the reaction period past 45 minutes only provides minimal improvements in absorbency. This effect was apparent for all treatments performed in 7.12 g/L and 3.28 g/L pectinase.
