The possibilities inherent in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) open up revolutionary approaches for the operational and the production processes of industrial enterprises. Based on the optimum linkage of a multitude of components and modules along the entire value-added chain, it will be possible to optimize processes, minimize set-up times, increase the machine availability, and to minimize the economical feasible lot sizes. Considering the background of digital transformation, the new series of hydraulic CNC presses TPA.../4HP (250t... 1,600t) has already been designed as smart, connected product. The paper will present the highlights of the press series TPA.../4HP and focus on the options with regard to IIoT for the PM production.
