Water Quality and Environmental Degradation in the Tom River Basin (Western Siberia): the need for an integrated management approach

摘要

Research conducted was aimed at establishing the scientific basis to develop a strategy for improving the ecological state of the Tom River basin. The results obtained thus far have demonstrated conclusively that the water quality problem can be considered separately from other environmental issues of the region. It can be done only within the total environmental context of the river basin.
