Laser Beam Cladding of Graded Layers and Freeform Components

摘要

The powder-fed laser beam cladding process is an appropriate method to generate graded layers and freeform parts. Components perform multiple functions or exhibit characteristics not attainable by a single engineering material currently available. In this case, dissimilar materials must frequently be combined in ways that take advantage of each material type and gradient materials allow to realise a combination of properties which are not obtainable with conventional or cladded materials.
