EXPOSURE TO LEAD AND ITS EFFECT ON CHILDRENS' HEALTH IN BELOVO (METALLURGICAL PLANT)

摘要

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of environmental lead contamination on children's health. In the course of this work the following problems were tackled: 1. assessment of environmental lead contamination in the vicinity of Belovo Metallurgical Plant (Kemerovskaya Oblast, Eastern Siberia) 2. assessment of lead concentration in children's blood, hair and teeth; 3. estimation of children's mental status; 4. assessment of different routes of the child exposure to lead; 5. assessment of effectiveness of different measures aimed at reducing lead contamination and children's exposure to lead.
