Colorants and Processes for Colored Composite Applications

The process of defining and measuring of the color of composite parts has and will continue to be the topic of numerous technical papers and journal articles. The influence of colorants and other system ingredients (e.g. fillers, resins, glass, and other additives) upon the absorption, reflection, and scattering of light, determines what color we perceive. A common problem facing many manufacturers is the issue of defining what appearance properties and/or qualities will be received as acceptable to their customer.
