The wide variety of papers presented and the high level of expertise at the workshop led to the following conclusions (with a more or less general agreement): 1. Many work shows that metrics can be used to measure successfully the quality of a system. This can be done through the detection of problematic constructs in the code (and the design). 2. Empirical validation studies on OO metrics should be conducted intensively in order to derive conclusions on their application as quality indicators / estimators.
