摘要

Despite a large number of studies, more evidence is needed on the validity of existing metrics, to help software engineers choose the right ones for each situation. This paper presents one such empirical study to evaluate a suite of object-oriented (OO) metrics, using OO characteristics such as multilevel inheritance, multiple inheritance, and hierarchical inheritance, to find their impact on reusability. The suite, based on CK metrics, was applied to three C++ programs to measure inheritance, coupling, and cohesion.
