Tendon and ligament injury or defect is very common. Because of the limitation and additional injury of autogenous tissue transfer, many researchers made efforts to find or produce new materials, such as silicon, nylon etc. But these materials were far from satisfactory. When Forster (1978) and Jenkin (1980) succeeded in repair of ligament and tendon, many doctors restarted the research of new materials. However, the implanted carbon fiber could be absorbed by the body. The reason is that carbon fiber is not living, it needs a long process of cell attaching and growing before it becomes a real ligament or tendon. If we make cells grow on the carbon fiber before implantation, produce we called living ready-made material, it could be better in meeting the needs of clinical use. So. we have performed combination culture of tendon cell and man-made materials, made living ready-made tendon. And then, implanted them into rabbits.
