Ni-base single crystal superalloys possess the excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperature (because the melting temperature is risen by means that grain boundary strengthening elements are not alloyed). It is essential that a new technique for single crystal joining should be rapidly developed. The elevated temperature properties of single crystal base material will deteriorate when grain boundaries are formed in the joint region. Therefore, it is vital that single crystal base material should be bonded without creating such a problem.
