The clinical use of neuromuscular blocking agents in small animal anesthesia

Neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBA) act at the neuromuscular junction to induce paralysis of skeletal muscles. This seminar will focus on the mechanism of action of both non-depolarizing and depolarizing NMBA, their clinical use in small animal practice, disadvantages and advantages of their use, specific NMBA and doses, and clinical monitoring of paralysis induced by these drugs.
