THE USE OF VANADIUM IN INTERSTITIAL-FREE STEELS

The use of vanadium in low carbon "interstitial-free" steels, produced by both simulated continuous annealing and batch annealing procedures, is considered. Factors examined include recrystallisation temperatures after cold reduction, hot rolled coil cooling rate, mechanical properties (including formability), strain ageing and bake hardening.
