This paper deal with Hot-Dip galvanized Ti-Nb stabilized interstitial free (IF) steel sheets, the substrates were annealed under varying temperature and time conditions in Gleeble 2000 in order to characterize morphology development in the coatings. The experiments are arranged by uniform design. Through the use of 60 deg V-bend test, the adherence of galvanneal coatings was evaluated, the powdering of coating was measured by an atomic absorption analysis. The microscope structure of coating and the phase composition were observed by SEM and EDS. XRD was also conducted on the specimens to determine the phase structure of the coating. The results indicate: according to the production line conditions, e.g., the annealing temperature is 510 deg C for 4.5 seconds while corresponding the strip speed is 60m/min., the interdifursion process has been completed. The phase structure of coating is zeta phase at the top, delta_1 phase in the middle, and GAMMA phase in the bottom of the layer. The mechanical properties of the galvannealed sheet are: n>=0.22, r>=1.8. The anti-powdering performance is good. In a word, this paper provide reliable technological parameters for the production of galvanneal sheet in WUHAN IRON & STEEL CORPORATION (WISCO).
