It is becoming increasingly apparent the importance of supplier quality to the profitability of today's businesses. It has been estimated that 30% of all manufacturing quality problems are related to raw materials. This is a situation that must change, and fortunately it is a win-win for the customer as well as the supplier. However, the change will not occur by accident. The customer must develop a plan and execute it effectively to achieve desired results. This paper considers the necessary elements and explores the methods for implementation.
