Professor Julian Szekely will long beremembered for his contributions to the mathematicalmodeling of plasma flows. A review is presented in thispaper of advances in the mathematical modeling of plasmasystems. The inductively coupled radio frequency (r.f.)plasma is considered for its relevance to technologicaland fundamental studies. It also offers the addedcomplexity and challenge of dealing with both laminarand turbulent flow regions in the some flow field.Preliminary results are presented for the comprehensionsimulation of the r.f. plasma torch and the power supply system.
