One of the major problems in testing radionuclide transport mdoels with a natural analogue is the potential discrepancy between experimentla and modelling concepts. In the matrix diffusion studies at Palmottu the measured U-series concentration profiles and mathematical simulations showed disagreement, suggesting discrepancy in respective concepts of radionuclide attachment on the rock pores. Here, the discrepancy was approached by studyign uranium fixation in more detail within the most lossely-bound fraction.
