A great number of publications in the lastdecades focused on the problem of precipitation inmicroalloyed steels. In this way, the development of newexperimental techniques which allow monitoring ofprecipitation of microalloying elements has been the object of great attention.The present work introduces the hot torsion stress relaxationtest as a valid technique to follow kinetics of precipitation inextra low carbon steel microalloyed with Ti, Nb and B. Adiscussion on the advantages and limitation of the technique ispresented. Experimental results obtained in this work,supported by TEM micrographs, are in good agreement withthose reported in the literature. The effects of differentdeformation conditions and chemical compositions on thekinetics of precipitation are reported and discussed.
