Improving the Estimate of Uncertainty in a Precision Calibrator

For a new instrument, uncertainties are assigned based on error analysis, environmental data, and data from pilot production units but generally without the benefit of much statistical data. This paper describes how manufacturing process data and field service data for large sample sizes can be used to improve that original estimate of the uncertainty.
