The way to calibrate measurement equipment and calibrators, which are producing measurement data as a result of a combination of hardware and software activity, requires further investigation. Aspects of integrity of software, consistency of hardware and software, and the analysis of the required minimum amount of points to be calibrated to obtain reliable data by interpolation need to be addressed. A recent proposal will be presented to come to a joint approach on this topic.
