NEW AMERICAN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS ON CALIBRATION CONTROL

This paper is intended to provide a progress report on ongoing efforts to complete the new American National and international standards for calibration and measurement control systems and to furnish a history of their origin and development. The important role of NCSL in the US standards is described. A report is given on the role of measurement assurance in the development of ANSI/ASQC M1 and M2 and the international standards ISO 10012-1 and ISO/WD 10012-2 and how they compare with MIL-STD-45662A.
