21.1: Invited Paper: The Importance of Electron-Gun Design in the Survival of the Color CRT

摘要

The evolution of color CRT electron gun design over the past 25 years is addressed. Many milestones of CRT E-gun designs are cited. For the future survival of color CRT, the two beam-group color E-gun is suggested as the answer to the challenge of the next generation's requirement of low power, high performance CRT.
