8.1: A 10.4-in. Reflective MTN-Mode TFT-LCD with Video-Rate and Full-Color Capabilities

摘要

A low-power reflective color TFT-LCD of VGA resolution using a mixed-mode twisted-nematic (MTN) effect has been developed. Attractive features such as low driving voltage, fast response, wide viewing angle, rich gray scales with superior color reproducibility, and clear image of no parallax are demonstrated. The tolerance in uniformity of cell gap as well as the light efficiency of various LC modes were also evaluated.
