The premium for superclean steels comesfrom a combination of steelmaking process technologyand raw material costs. Whilst many companies areseeking to define this premium against standard steelcompositions, the volatility of the scrap marketpricing and the variable cost of ferroalloyingadditions makes it impossible to define accuratelythis premium. It is certain, however, that theForgemasters have the capability and the technologyto produce the low residual steels to the requirementsof the various industrial sectors.
