Cooling of intricately shaped Ti-alloy blanksduring the thermal treatment has been described. Thedetermined optimum cooling schedules provide for the requiredmicrostructure of the articles due to controlled and variablecooling of the sections of the articles featuring different mass. Asearch of the specific technology of cooling (heating) of anintricately shaped article has been carried out on a computermodel which visualized the distribution of temperatures,distribution of heating (cooling) rates, thermo-sresses, gassaturation layer and scale layer. An original mathematicalapparatus based on conformal transformations has been used forthe simulation of the non-stationary temperature field.
