摘要

The powder metallurgical processing route offers a large potential for the mass production of hydrogen storage alloys. The use of vacuum process technology in melting and casting of these alloys is one of the major prerequisites. The material quality for the basic products has to be a rapidly solidified material with a defined grain size structure and a low segregation. Due to the rapid development of various applications for hydrogen storage alloys, an economical mass production of the hydrogen storage materials is required. This paper introduces production methods applicable to produce the required material quality via the casting and powder production routes.
