N-arylureas of 3-arylpyridazine have been found to be highly active insecticiedes. This activity is highly dependent upon the presence of a meta-substituent on the 3-aryl ring. In addition, geometrically constrained tricyclic pyridazines have been found to have greater levels of activity. This article will highlight the synthesis and biological activity of these novel insecticides and other closely related ring systems.
