Imporving listening ocnditions in small built spaces using active absorbers

摘要

The normal mdos of a small bult space intoduce temporal and spatial irregularties into its enclosed sound filed.These irregularities re undesireable if the room is used fr criticla listening to reprduced sond,aprticularly at low frequencies.this paper describes how an active apporahc cna be sued to ocnotlr the effects of low frequency modes.The active system is adjusted so as to minimise cost funcitosn which dirctly quantify the tirrelgularities and it is demonstrated that optimial peorfomance results when the system is ocnfitugured to asorb maximum acoustic power.
