摘要

The friction force between coupled machine members in relative motion exerts sometimes significant influence on system dynamic behavior, giving rise to undesirable friction-induced v ibrations. The aim of this paper is to investigate the contribution of each design parameter and operating conditions on the system dynamic performance of a metallic mass sliding on a polymeric lower base, the mass is excited from its support by a harmonic input velocity. The governing equations are solved numerically and results showed that, for high excitation amplitude, an increase in the negative slope of the friction-velocity curve which leads to an increase in the friction-induced vibrations. Also system with high natural frequency of the lower mass has lower self-excited vibrations.
