This study is a redesign and stress analysis of a front swing-arm design for a two-wheeled vehicle, code named RZX, which will be intended for use on a racing motorcycle. Although the design is of an already existing patent (patent # 7,059,619), the analysis and development of the mechanical device is in the very early stages of testing, and therefore analysis of the structural members within the design is a necessity. Structural design, using commercial computer aided design software, and partial analysis using commercial computer aided engineering software package has been implemented thus far. Although a working model could be built at this point much more computer FE analysis as well as theoretical analysis must be done in order to redesign the RZX so that it can perform its intended task.
