摘要

An approach based on ensemble averaging ideas is elaborated for suspensions of fine particles in a Newtonian fluid. Both field conservation equations and constitutive laws are derived within a unified theoretical frame. The structural form of the field averaged equations of conservation and interpretation of their various terms, particularly phase stresses and interphase interaction force constituents, are clearly revealed. The approach is suggested as an effective paradigm for better understanding of and extending to more complex multiphase flow and heat transfer situations.
