摘要

A common symptom of most obstructive airway diseases is the impaired muco-ciliary transport due to increased mucus viscosity and thickness. These persons must rely on the two-phase flow and cough as a lung clearance mechanism. The objective ofthis study is to understand the dynamics of the interface between the airflow and mucus layer better. This understanding is inherent to designing therapies to enhance the mucus clearance.
