Demonstration of the Electric Controlled Pneumatic Brakes on the Union Pacific Railroad

The purpose of the demonstration was to evaluate what degree Union Pacific Railroad should support further development of Electronic Controlled Pneumatic (ECP) brakes, by investigating: Crew Acceptance Equipment Reliability Train Performance Possibility of "wire line" Distributed Power. The results obtained concerning these issues are discussed along with Union Pacific's philosophy concerning this technology.
