Farm Vehicle Automatic Acceleration Data Acquisition System

A data acquisition system has been developed to measure three dimensional acceleration of agricultural machine components. The 30 channel system consists of Silicon Designs, Inc., Model 1000 capacitive accelerometers and an interface utilizing AM9513 system timing controller chips, a 82C54 chip, and a 8255 chip. Digital signals from the accelerometers are fed directly to the interface board in a ZEOS 486 computer. The frequency response of the accelerometers is of special interest in design and testing of mobile agricultural machinery, which are generally exposed to low frequency (< 5 Hz) excitation. The control program for the system has been developed using Turbo C++?.
