Method for controlling longitudinal movement of vehicle i.e. car, involves receiving vehicle data by vehicle, and automatically adjusting acceleration of vehicle if acceleration is smaller than instantaneous acceleration
The method involves receiving vehicle data (F) by a vehicle (13). Instantaneous distances (A) between the vehicle and preceding vehicles (10, 11) are calculated by positions transmitted by the preceding vehicle. Instantaneous acceleration of the vehicle is detected by the driver. Instantaneous target value for the instantaneous acceleration of the vehicle is calculated in dependence of the determined instantaneous distances. The acceleration of the vehicle is automatically adjusted if the acceleration is smaller than the instantaneous acceleration. An independent claim is also included for a driver assistance system for a vehicle.
