ZOVEX: AN EXPERT SYSTEM TO HELP SOLVING HEALTH AND PRODUCTION PROBLEMS ON PIG FARMS. < PROJECT OUTLINE >

The basic processes in developing an expert system are knowledge acquisition and knowledge representation. The former includes knowledge elicitation and documentation. In the development of the ZOotechnical Veterinary EXpert system ZOVEX, an adjustment of the KADS-technique was used for knowledge documentation. The knowledge is built in an object oriented rule based expert system shell. Besides the structure of ZOVEX, the documentation technique used and knowledge representation methods are described.
