ENHANCEMENT OF SOW HOUSING DESIGN BY THE USE OF KNOWLEDGE BASED CAD

摘要

To ascertain the impact of existing and new methods of sow housing on farm results, it is necessary to study possible building lay-outs, investments and annual costs. The paper describes a first attempt to create an object-oriented, knowledge-based system for designing farm buildings for sows. The system takes over the analyse and synthesize processes in designing, and assists the user to quickly generate and evaluate alternative designs and cost estimates. It enables farm-specific plans for farm buildings to be studied and therefore helps improve recommendations for sow housing methods.
