摘要

In order to estimate the seismic response of a secondary system such as piping or vessels, its dynamic characteristics including the effect of the primary system should be calculated. In many cases dynamic characteristics of a primary structure and also a secondary one are given by modal parameters. This paper presents a calculating method of natural frequency, damping ratio, participation factor, and mode shape coefficients of the total system by synthesizing their modal parameters. Calculated results for some models by this method are compared with those by the method to analyze the total system directly, and they are assured to be in good agreement. Further an application example to aseismic design is demonstrated.
