This paper presents the design principle of DDS-driven PLL frequency synthesizer.This kind of frequency synthesizer is able to achieve greater operation bandwidth,finer frequency resolution,more improved phase noise,better spurious characteristics and faster settling time while reducing physical size and power consumption.It consists of Q2334 dual DDS and Q3036 single chip PLL synthesizer.This kind of powerful hybrid synthesizer can be perfectly used for spread spectrum communication.In our paper,we give a practical example of L-band DDS-driven PLL frequency synthesizer.
