Utilization of Indigenous Medicinal Plants and their Conservation in Bangladesh

Although there is voluminous literature on the medicinal plants of the Indian subcontinent, considerable work is needed to investigate their properties and elucidate their chemical composition. Extracts of most of these plants have not yet been submitted to rigorous clinical trials for the broad range of ailments for which they are used. Besides this, there are a large number of plants which have never been tested for their medicinal properties.
