The smoothing filter has been applied to a wide variety of problems.Most available current solutions to the smoothing filters base on modification of the prediction filter.In this paper,it is derived first that a smoothing filter can be made up by parallel combination of three linear filters; two of them are conventional prediction error filters(to be specific,a forward linear prediction error filter and a backward linear prediction error filter)and the remaining one is an all-pass phase-inverting filter.Also given,is the smoothing filter using the lattice structure.Finally,the orderrecursion route of the smoothing filter is discussed.
