Today's production systems evolve into an ecosystem of smart automation technology and networking. Algorithms lead the processes that are derived from digital data over the system lifecycle. In this context the human worker is still an important element despite the significant role of automation. But the physical world gives only limited access to the digital part of the production system. A natural and intuitive user interface between the real and the digital world is a crucial factor. Moreover, the shopfloor itself should become a smart environment where the digital information is merged into the physical world. That requires a flexible framework for various interaction technologies, regarding the data interface, a multi-device infrastructure and a concept to adapt the presentation of information.
