Weaving looms based on the air-jet insertion principle are now been used to produce a wide variety of fabrics, mostly because of its simplicity which is reflected by the low loom manufacturing costs. However the consumption of compressed air for its operation is considerable. To reduce the air consumption a new control of the air-jet nozzles, which predicts the position of the weft tip in the insertion channel was successfully implemented. The system proofed to increase also the reliability of the loom operation.
