Russian geomechanics made an important contribution to the development of ideas about the deformation properties of rocks in the litho-sphere (Nikolaevsky 1979, Nikolaevsky 1996, Nikolaevsky 2006, Nikolaevsky and Sharov 1985) in the second half of the 70's - the beginning of the 80's of the last century.
