Prediction of the Powering Performance for the ONR Tumblehome

摘要

In this paper, the powering performance of the full-scale ONRTumblehome (ONRT) ship with twin-propeller is numericallyinvestigated by using CFD method, from which the hydrodynamiccoefficients are predicted. The Realizable k-ε turbulent model and theSST k-ω turbulent model are compared in the numerical simulations ofthe ship model resistance test and the propeller open water test. It isshown that the SST k-ω turbulent model is more accurate to predict thetest results. This study provides a more suitable method to predict thepowering performance of the ONR Tumblehome.
