The interaction between structures and waves is a typical phenomenonin naval architecture and ocean engineering fields. In this paper, numerical simulations are carried out to study the interactions between atwo-dimension horizontal plate and solitary wave by our in-house CFDsolver MLParticle-SJTU. The simulation procedure is following theexperiments performed at Dalian University of Technology. Duringthese computations, the plate is submerged under water and the solitarywave with given amplitude is generated by a piston-type wave maker.Free surface elevations of the wave and the pressure impacting on theplate are recorded and compared with experimental data respectively. The predicted pressure agrees well with the benchmark data. Finally, theinfluence of wave height on the interaction between the plate and solitarywave is analyzed.
