Through-Tubing Casing Inspection of Natural Gas Storage Wells

Atmos Energy and CenterPoint Energy have contracted with several service companies to perform casing inspection logs on gas storage wells in their Lake Dallas, Texas and Waterville, Minnesota fields. These service companies offer a relatively new inspection tool, which can measure casing wall thickness with production tubing still in place. Log results and comparisons with previous logs will be presented. The aim of these logging programs is to evaluate the effectiveness of a casing inspection tools that could be less intrusive in terms of the level of well preparation required. These tools could be used either as a well health triage strategy, or as a long-term well health monitoring strategy.
