Natural gas matters. It matters because it offers countries an affordable and environmentally acceptable option to power people's lives today and tomorrow. But it also matters because it will help to meet the world's rising energy demand into the future; as technically available gas resources remain plentiful. Shell offers a portfolio of solutions that can help resource holders to take advantage of the whole gas integrated value chain, from finding and producing gas through to the marketing of products. One of the key gas monetization routes is to convert gas into liquid (GTL) products which can be easily used in existing infrastructures and vehicles without modification of current infrastructure. GTL fuel delivers a superior environmental performance with lower local emissions than ultra-low sulphur diesel.
