There are more than 800 shredding plants in the world, including about 350 in North America and another 350 in Europe with the remaining 100 plus scattered around the world. Each of the operators of each of these plants has accumulated knowledge and experience regarding their specific shredding plant but many operators do not have a good understanding of what are the present World's Best Practices in shredding equipment and techniques. The result of this lack of knowledge causes actions that can be considered "reinvention of the wheel" or other time consuming and wasteful efforts. I am fond of telling people that I have been doing this for 50 years and that during that time, I have learned a lot of things to NOT DO.
