Austenitic stainless steel with high corrosionresistance and high irradiation resistance is required inorder to improve the reliability of reactor core components.Oxide dispersion strengthened austenitic stainless steel(ODS-SS), has been developed. In this study, we focusedon the additive manufacturing process, which has beenactively developed in the aviation field. Specifically, wefabricated ODS-SS using an additive manufacturingprocess (ODS-SS-3DP) and then performed microstructureobservation, tensile testing, and corrosion testing toevaluate its characteristics. These properties werecompared with those of conventional materials (type316LSS) and ODS-SS manufactured by powder metallurgy. Results showed that ODS-SS-3DP with fine grain and fineprecipitates was manufactured by the additivemanufacturing process. Average grain size and averageprecipitate sizes of ODS-SS-3DP were 4.7 μm and 36nm, respectively. It is coarser than that of ODS-SS andfiner than that of type316L SS. The 0.2% proof stress ofODS-SS-3DP was 0.75 and 1.76 times higher than that ofODS-SS and type 316L SS, respectively at roomtemperature. The corrosion resistance of ODS-SS-3DP wasas same as ODS-SS and better than that of type316L SS.
